Get a Smile You Love With Braces

Why Should You Consider Braces?

Braces are a proven way to improve your "chewing system." This includes your teeth, jaw joints, and the muscles that help you eat and speak. We offer several great types of orthodontic treatments to help you achieve your ideal smile.

Traditional Metal Braces

These are the most common type of braces. Today’s metal braces use high-grade alloys and are much smaller and more comfortable than they used to be.

  • Custom Look: You can pick colorful elastics (rubber bands) to show off your personal style.

  • Proven Results: They are excellent for fixing even the most complex bite issues.

Clear Ceramic Braces

If you want your treatment to be less noticeable, ceramic braces are a fantastic choice. They work just like metal braces but blend in with your teeth.

  • Popular for Adults: A top pick for working professionals and teens who want a more subtle look.

  • Precision Technology: They offer the same high-quality results as traditional metal braces.

Braces the Kozak Way

Dr. Kozak and Dr. Durbin are specialists in improving how your teeth, muscles, and joints interact. Our care team follows 4 strategic principles to give you the best experience:

  • Precision Planning: We create a "blueprint" for your smile before we even start.
  • The Right Timing: We only begin treatment when it is the most effective time for your growth.
  • Advanced Techniques: We use "indirect bonding" to place your braces more accurately, which means less time in the orthodontic chair for you.
  • Best-in-Class Care: Our team is dedicated to making every visit fun and positive.

What foods should I avoid with braces?

To keep your treatment on track, try to avoid:

  • Sticky Treats: Gum, toffee, and caramels.
  • Hard Snacks: Ice, nuts, and hard chips.
  • Crunchy Veggies: Cut apples and raw carrots into small bites instead of biting into them.
How do I brush and floss with braces?

It takes a little practice, but you'll be a pro in no time.

  • Rinse First: Use water to clear out any loose food.
  • Angle Your Brush: Brush teeth and gums at a 45-degree angle to reach around the brackets and under the wires.
  • Brush Often: Aim to brush your teeth after every meal and before bed.
Are braces painful?

Most patients feel a little sore for a few days after getting braces, but it doesn't last long. A simple saltwater rinse or over-the-counter pain reliever can help you feel better quickly. We can also provide dental wax if your brackets irritate your cheeks.

How long will I need to wear braces?

Every smile is different! Most treatments last between 6 and 30 months. We’ll walk you through your unique treatment timeline at your initial consultation. Once your braces come off, we’ll get you set up with a retainer to make sure everything stays in place.

Am I too old for braces?

Never! We love working with adults. In fact, many of our patients are adults starting their smile journey later in life.
